Edna E. Borntrager
Edna Ellen Borntrager, 79, passed away January 8, 2020. She was born September 3, 1940 in Goshen, Indiana to the late Jacob and Clara (Bontrager) Miller.
Edna had been a cook at Das Dutchman Essenhaus in Middlebury, Indiana and then a seamstress for Wieland Designs in Goshen for many years. She came to Sarasota in 2014 from Middlebury, Indiana and was a member of Palm Grove Mennonite Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, coloring, playing board games, cooking and making Christmas candies.
Left to cherish her memory are husband of 58 years, Urie; children, Sharon Kaufman and her husband Marvin; Stephen Borntrager; Rose Wagler and her husband Nathan; and Ron Borntrager and his wife Amalia; siblings, Mary Alice Miller and her husband Emery; Al Miller; Fern Nisly and her husband Marvin; Mabel Nyce and her husband John; Norm Miller and his wife Glenda; and Jean Otto and her husband Cal; grandchildren, Brittany, Cody, Kelsey, Katrina, Brandon, Gareth, Trenton, Matthew, Katelyn, Josiah and Jeremiah; great grandchildren, Bodhi, Kyler and Deklin.
There will be a visitation on Saturday, January 11, 2020 from 5:30 to 8:00 PM at Palm Grove Mennonite Church, 1087 S. Beneva Road, Sarasota, Florida 34232. Graveside service and burial will be Sunday, at 2:30 PM at Bethel Mennonite Cemetery. Memorial Service will follow at 4:00 PM back at Palm Grove Mennonite Church.
