Irene Walters, 76, passed away October 10, 2019. She was born November 16, 1942 in California to the late Milton and Rose Miller. In addition to her parents, she cherished her long-standing relationship with Mike Walters.
Irene worked as a bartender at the Log Cabin in Hopatcong, NJ where she served a many cheery glasses for many years! When she moved to Jersey City, NJ, she and her husband owned a corner candy store for several years, a town tavern in Harrison, NJ and a gas station in Mountainside, NJ. After relocating to Florida Irene became a Medical Billing Collections Agent and helped many people over the years navigate the world of health insurance and billing.
Irene’s home and heart was always open to friends, family, and those in need. Our Mom’s home was a place where you could always find a friend.
She enjoyed crocheting, watching Law & Order SVU. spending time with her family and friends and attending Blues Festivals and spending her one hour girlfriend time seven days a week. Irene had an inherent light about her which made it easy for all walks of life to feel like ‘ole friends.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Karla, John, Nicole, Timothy, Mark and Steven; sister, Sylvia; grandchildren, Sarah, Riley, Jacob, Reece, Timothy, Steven, Christopher, Venesa, Deserae, Selena and Sarah; and stepsons Timothy and Christopher.
