Jagdish "Jack" Sheth

Jagdish (Jack) Sheth, 80, passed away Sept. 20, 2019. Born in India, he emigrated to the US in 1959, and received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering at Kansas State University in 1961. After graduating, he began his career as a chemist in the flooring industry, which turned into a lifelong passion. It was during his time in New York, that Jack met his future wife Lotte, and they married in 1964. He proudly became a US citizen in 1972. Jack and his family settled down in Yardley, Pa., where he developed close business and personal friendships that would follow him into retirement. He and his wife retired to North Port, Florida in 2001. It was at this time that he began volunteering, as a way to give back. Donating his time in a library bookstore, and as a respite worker at a hospice, gave Jack a tremendous sense of fulfilment. As a final act of compassion, Jack had his remains donated for scientific research. Jack was a loving, compassionate and devoted husband, and father, who will be missed greatly by those who knew him.

Jack is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Lotte, son Mark, daughters Nancy Papa and Kristy Sheth, six grand-children and three great-grand-children, brothers Dinesh and Ashok, sister Pushpalata, and extended family in India and the US. He was pre-deceased by his father Jivrajbhai and mother Girjaben, brother Prafull, and sister Chandan.

In order to honor Jack's wishes, no funeral or memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to North Port Public Library (North Port, FL) or Tidewell Hospice (Venice, FL), where Jack volunteered.
