Jolene (Jo) Peacock

Jolene (Jo) Peacock, 67, of Sarasota, FL passed away August 8th at Sarasota Memorial Hospital after a 4-year battle with breast cancer.  Jo was the daughter of Keith and Muriel Aumaugher and was raised in Flint, MI.   She graduated from Southwestern High and went to Michigan State and graduated from Eastern Michigan University.  Jo moved to Clio, MI and was a teacher at Flint Northwestern High School until she dedicated her time to raising her children. Jo served on the Clio School Board, twice as president. She was a member of Clio Country Club for over 30 years. In 2005, she moved to Sarasota, FL where she enjoyed spending time entertaining, playing trivia and worked as a tax preparer. She spent summers at her Higgins Lake cottage for three decades.  She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many.  Jo was a divine cook and loved traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She is survived by son Dr. Zachary Peacock (wife Dr. Carolyn Peacock), grandsons Gregory and Trent Peacock of Lexington, MA, daughter Dr. Elizabeth Peacock (husband Jake Rodrigue) of New Orleans, LA, and brothers Barry Aumaugher (wife Connie Cole) of Davisburg, MI and James Aumaugher of Brooksville, FL.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation or the charity of your choice.  A celebration of life is planned for a later date.
