Marcia Abrams, 87, of Sarasota, Florida passed away April 10, 2020. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 4, 1932 and moved to Sarasota from Massachusetts in 1993. She was fortunate to have traveled and lived all over the country given that her husband worked as an Aerospace Engineer. After putting down roots in Randolph, Massachusetts, Marcia owned and operated a candy shop called Good Taste with a second location in Newport, Rhode Island.
She was a member of numerous temple sisterhoods throughout the years. She was an avid Mahjong player, enjoyed knitting and needlework, loved to travel, had a green thumb, and read a book a day. Most of all, Marcia took great pride in her extensive family and friend circle. Entertaining in her home was the highlight of her life; holidays, special events, and weekends were always extra special to Marcia where she always cooked enough food for an army!
She is preceded in death by her parents, David and Sarah Weingard and her sister, Jeanne Ehrlich. Marcia is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Gerard L. Abrams; daughter, Beth Bourbeau; sons, Randy Abrams (Marlene) and David Abrams; sister, Lois Stermer; granddaughter, Alicia Casals (Henry); grandson, James Bourbeau; great-granddaughter, Lolina Casals; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins throughout the country.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marcia's memory to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, https://www.cff.org/give-today/
