Patrick C. Grelle
Patrick C. Grelle, age 78 of West Newbury and formerly of Andover, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2020 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Patrick was born in Lawrence on December 1, 1941 to the late Peter and Frances (Cafiso) Grelle. Patrick was a compassionate and caring man who had great pride and valued his family and friendships.
Patrick graduated from Central Catholic High School in Lawrence and held degrees in electrical and industrial engineering from Lowell Technological Institute and Northeastern University in Boston. He began his professional career at Western Electric in North Andover, earned several leadership and management positions and retired with 44 years of service. Following his retirement, Patrick regularly attended social gatherings with work colleagues, developed new interests and social circles. Patrick was an active member of the St. Robert Bellarmine choir, enjoyed swimming at Boston Sports Club in Salisbury, and socializing with neighbors in West Newbury and Siesta Key, Florida. Patrick loved to entertain and bring family and friends together for all occasions and celebrations.
Patrick was the beloved husband of the late Susan (Gastonguay) Grelle and Mary (Dunphy) Grelle. He was the devoted father of Mary Ellen Grelle of Haverhill, Laura Pollard and husband K. Jeffrey Pollard of Groton, and Jennifer Grelle Laramee of West Newbury. Patrick was the dear brother of Dorothy Gagnon and husband Philippe, and Peter Grelle and wife Angela. He was the loving grandfather of Haley, Morgan and Kenneth Pollard.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Friday, February 7, 2020 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. in Methuen. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 10:00 AM at St. Robert Bellarmine Parish, 198 Haggetts Pond Road in Andover. Interment to follow at West Hampstead Cemetery in Hampstead, NH.
