Robert Owen Galloway

Robert Owen Galloway, 85, passed away September 30, 2019.  He was born July 5, 1934 in Park Ridge, Illinois.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Beulah Galloway; and his brothers, Darwin and Kenneth Bales.

Robert moved to Sarasota in 1998 from Ashland, Ohio. Philway Products in Ashland, Ohio was the company founded by his father where he later became President and they electroplated items that NASA sent to the moon.  Also in Ohio he had been a Rotarian for many years and also served as the club treasurer.  He was a Boy Scout leader and active on the Jr. High PTA Board.  Robert worked in insurance sales in Ohio and also when he moved to Sarasota.  Here he was the past president of the Oakwood Manor Mobile Home Park.  He attended Sarasota Community Church.  For fun Robert enjoyed sports, golf and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 65 years, Marjorie; children, Kevin Galloway and his wife Emily of Arizona; Cynthia Moll and her husband Michael of Myakka City, Florida; Brennan Galloway and his wife Connie of Ashland, Ohio; and Barry Galloway and his wife Daphne of Greenwich, Ohio; grandchildren, Spencer, Kalynn, Claire, Gwen and Ashley; great grandchildren, Colton, Bianca, Oliver and Aubrey.

Robert served our country in the US Army.  There will be a private graveside service and interment at Sarasota National Cemetery.  Arrangements are being handled for the family by Maloney Funeral Home.
