Vincent Joseph Kremin
Vincent Joseph Kremin, 80, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2019 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Middlesex Township, Butler County, Valencia, PA, on October 11, 1939, the son of Henry T. (Krzeminski) Kremin and Margarita M. (Szewczyk) Shaffer Kremin. He attended Butler County Schools and Ricker College. He served with the US Air Force from 1957-1961 in the 42nd Civil Engineering Squadron during which time he received the Good Conduct Medal for exemplary behavior, efficiency and fidelity. He served with the US Air Force Reserve from 1961-1963 at Loring Air Force Base in Limestone, ME.
Vince was employed in 1963 as a route salesman for John J Nissen Baking Corporation in Presque Isle, ME, where he later assumed the positions of Route Sales Supervisor and Branch Sales Manager. In 1977, Vince assumed the position of General Sales Manager in Brewer, ME, where he was later appointed Vice President of Sales by the John J Nissen Board of Directors and retired in 2002.
Vince will be remembered by all who knew and loved him as meticulous, dependable, trustworthy, hardworking, generous, and “always there for a friend”. We can’t remember Vince without remembering his love of dancing with Jan, his immaculate lawn, ham sandwiches, custard pie, and his “polish roots”. Although he lived in New England for 60 years, Vince remained a loyal and loud Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He loved everywhere he lived in Maine, but the house he and Jan built in Carrabassett Valley was where he felt most at home. Vince could not be more proud of his large family and there was no one he would rather spend his time with, often joking there was enough of us to make our own party, which we did as often as we could.
Vince was predeceased by his father in 1985 and his mother in 2008.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 48 years, Janice (Bradbury) Kremin of Sarasota, FL; and his five children, Michael (Maureen) Kremin of Lincolnville, ME, Sandy (Wayne) Dwyer of Appleton, WI, Meritt (Wade Saunders) Phillips of St. Petersburg, FL, Jared Kremin of Westbrook, ME, and Jessica (Rick) Hayward of Hampden, ME; nine grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Alex, Rachel, Kelsey, Lauren, Ava, Hunter and Reese. Brothers, Thomas (Patty) Kremin of Valencia, PA and Gary Kremin of Running Springs, CA, Sister, Carol (Kremin) Kane of Valencia, PA, and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Vince’s Life will be held on December 8, 2019 at The Hilton Garden Inn Conference Center at 250 Haskell Rd, Bangor, ME from 2pm – 5 pm.
Memorial Contributions in his honor can be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Janet Bell, 2970 University Pkwy, Suite 104, Sarasota, FL 34234
We will miss you more than our words can express and our parties will never be the same.
