Our History

The mission of Maloney Funeral Home is to help hurting people. Losing a loved one is the worst event in your life. If you don’t need all the expensive prestige and emotional overspending, then Dean is your down to earth “friend in the business” who will help guide you and give you honest, no sales gimmicks service at an affordable and sensible cost.

  • Dean Maloney

    Dean Maloney, Owner/Funeral Director

    Dean Maloney is a fourth generation Floridian and a third generation funeral director. He has been serving the gulf coast of Florida for over 28 years. He has been married to his wife Rosena for 33 years and together they have three beautiful children. Dean is a member for the Florida Crematory, Cemetery and Funeral Association, the Sarasota Sunrise Rotary Club, The Lakewood Ranch Elks Lodge and the Sarasota and Manatee Chambers of Commerce.

  • Marigot Craig

    Marigot Craig, Funeral Director

    Marigot Craig is a third generation funeral service professional and has been a resident of the Sarasota area since 1994. She was a member of the Kiltie Marching band, the Highlander Drum Corps and graduate of Riverview High School. She also graduated from St. Petersburg College with a degree in Funeral Services.Marigot has four children. When she’s not spending time with her family, she’s an avid photographer, fitness enthusiast and she helps teach and compete in Irish Dancing.

  • Anna Sorensen

    Anna Sorensen, Office Manager/Funeral Support Staff

    Anna Sorensen, originally from Mesa, Az moved to Florida in 2023 to pursue medical administration and found a special opportunity to serve others at Maloney Funeral Home. She is a graduate of Highland High School in Gilbert, AZ and has attained her associate in medical administration and public health from BYU-Pathway Worldwide and Ensign College.  Anna has a passion for service, baking treats for the funeral home, singing at karaoke nights or at church, and teaching the youth Sunday school at her church.
