Barbara Ann Beiler

Barbara Ann Beiler, 81, passed away March 12, 2023. She was born September 7, 1941 in Wooster, Ohio to the late Joas and Ida (Miller) Miller. Barbara and her husband, John, married in 1959. They then moved to Sarasota from Virginia Beach, Virginia in 1961. She owned and operated Beiler’s Upholstery for over 30 years. She was an active member of Ashton Mennonite Church and later on, Bethel Mennonite Church. Barbara enjoyed spending her time baking, sewing, and gardening with her Earth Boxes. She was known for her homemade sourdough bread and cinnamon rolls and always had a patch of mint tea in a shady spot at the back of her house that she would brew up the most amazing iced tea for family gatherings. She loved teaching her grandkids how to bake, cook, sew and knit and many times could be found spending one-on-one time with them. She had many close friendships in the community and was always welcoming to anyone stopping in for a visit at their home in Pinecraft. She also served the community through The Remnant Cafe Homeless Outreach at Remnant Church preparing and serving meals. Left to cherish her memory are her husband John Beiler of 63 years, three sons, Danny Beiler and his wife Kimberly; Steve Beiler and his wife, Sherri; and John Beiler and his wife, Tonya; sisters Mary Bontrager and Betty Horsting; and brother JB Miller, Jr. (John); grandchildren, Michael Beiler (Deborah), Danielle Morey (Rob), Katie Schlabach (Cameron), Jennifer Mast (Matt), Stefanie Beiler, David Beiler, and Kristen Graham (Aaron); great-grandchildren Marcus, Wade, Sammy, Leif, Charlotte, Victoria, Josephine, Rosie Jo, Corbin, Everett, and Nolan. In addition to her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her brothers Lester Miller and Leroy Miller. There will be a Celebration of Barbara's life Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Bethel Mennonite Church beginning with visitation from 3pm-4pm and funeral service to follow. Burial will be private at Palms Memorial Park.
