Dr. Greg Wrigley

Dr. Greg Wrigley’s, 68, journey on earth may have ended on June 29, 2023, but his impact will continue to resonate in our hearts forever. He was born February 19, 1955 in San Diego, California to the late George Robert and Betty Elizabeth (Fromm) Wrigley. Greg’s life was committed to ministry. He earned a Bachelor's degree in history from Shorter University, a Master's in ministry from Southwestern Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, and a Doctorate of Ministry from the Theological Seminary in New Orleans. Known as “Dr. G,” Greg served his whole adult life as a minister. He preached at several churches throughout Georgia and North Florida. He took a position as the Director of Missions for the Black Creek Baptist Association. He then served as the Associate Executive Director for the West Virginia Convention of Southern Baptists. Greg was a true outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, gardening, and reveling in sports, especially for NFL football and making brackets for March Madness. At the time of his passing, he was a member of Woodland Community Church. The family would also like to say a special “thank you” to Greg’s caretakers, medical care team, and therapists who helped Claudia assist with his daily needs, giving him the ability to remain at home during his illness. In addition to his parents, Greg was predeceased by his brother, Kevin Wrigley. Greg is survived by his wife Claudia; daughter Sarah Jett and her husband Stuart; daughter Stephanie Davis and her husband Donald “D” Davis Jr.; brother, Steve Wrigley and his wife Lynne, his cherished grandchildren, Josephine Jett, Grayson Jett, Kipper Davis, and Ellaina Davis, and his dog, Armani. There will be a Celebration of Life held on Monday, July 3, 2023 at 11:00 am at Woodland Community Church, 9607 E State Road 70, Bradenton, Florida 34202. The service will also be live streamed at https://www.woodlandonline.cc/live. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Woodland Community Church specified towards the "Love Out Loud" missions ministry of the church.
