Norman Willard Todd

Norman Willard Todd November 5, 1939-September 12, 2024 Norman passed away in his Osprey home with wife Victoria by his side, along with his entire family. Norman Willard Todd, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, peacefully passed away on September 12, 2024, at the age of 84. Born and raised in New Castle, Pennsylvania, he graduated from New Castle High School. After high school, Norman proudly served in the U.S. Army as an Armor Crewman and Expert Rifleman from 1962 to 1964 in Frankfurt, Germany, at the U.S. Army Garrison Gelnhausen. He continued his service in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1964 to 1967. In 1974, Norman moved to Osprey, Florida, with his then-wife, Mary Jo, and their two children, Lorrie and Joe. He became HVAC certified and founded Gulf Coast Restaurant Equipment, Refrigeration & Leasing, along with Gulf Coast Custom Stainless. Later, he and his wife Victoria established Sarasota Restaurant Equipment. Norman's entrepreneurial spirit and dedication earned him respect in the industry. Norman cherished time spent with his wife, Victoria. After selling Sarasota Restaurant Equipment in 2005, they traveled the United States annually to visit family, often stopping to enjoy poker and golf along the way to their summer home in Grand Lake, Colorado. An award-winning golfer, real estate investor, and high-stakes poker player, Norman was known for his vibrant personality and zest for life. He was dedicated to fitness and worked tirelessly to create a better future for his family. Norman was fortunate to have many "families" in his life, including his golfing and poker buddies. His limitless generosity touched the lives of many, and he had a deep love for animals, especially his cherished fur baby, Dozer, who accompanied him and Victoria on their travels. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 27 years Victoria Todd (27 years of marriage, and 37 wonderful years together); son Norman Joseph Todd; daughter: Lorrie Todd Gaschen (Frederic); stepson: Toby Nunn (Shenna); stepdaughter: Samantha Nunn; sister: GiGi Hartman (William); brothers: Gary Todd (Lora) and Willard Todd (Barbara); grandchildren: Jacob Haas (Holly), Alec Gaschen, Zachary Todd, Toby Nunn Jr, Reece Todd (Gabby) and Chance Hibbard; and great grandchildren: Brantley Haas, Philomena Haas. Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Fern Todd. Norman leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and pride in his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Maloney Funeral Home, 2401 Cattlemen Road, Sarasota, Florida 34232, with a time of sharing beginning at 6:30 PM. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday at 11:00 AM, also at Maloney Funeral Home, followed by interment with military honors at 2:00 PM at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 SR 72, Sarasota, Florida 34241.
