Zachariah Moses Lapp

Zachariah Moses Lapp passed away November 20, 2025, from complications related to Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Zachariah was born December 13, 2010 in Omaha, Nebraska. He was welcomed into the Lapp family when he was just 1 day old and was later officially adopted. Zack lived in Lancaster Pa before moving to Florida. His four siblings were his best friends, along with his cousin Jaylon and his favorite babysitters and cousins, Verna Grace, Marlene and Mandie. Zack was known for his mechanical and motor skills. Taking things apart or smashing them open to see how things worked was typical, anything from toys and trikes to household items, shop tools, electronics and engines. He was creative, full of ideas and inventions. His brother Josh was often part of the plan for his experiments and the two of them had countless hours of adventures together. He loved road trips and going to equipment auctions with his Dad. His 2 sisters graciously and lovingly cared for him and to quote Riah’s mom “He couldn’t possibly have been loved more.” He was extremely proud to become a big brother to his brother Carson. Zachariah watched many of ‘The Chosen’ episodes; his favorite was “Jesus Loves the little Children,” and we can only imagine Zachariah finally able to run, healthy at last, straight into Jesus’s arms. Wide open spaces and riding made Riah feel alive, wild and free and he eventually discovered his love and passion for dirt bikes. He assembled bike kits to sell and saved up to buy his own adult sized bike. Anyone who took time to ride with him brought him tremendous joy and happiness; among them were his cousin Calvin, Uncle Elmer, neighbors Cody, Casey and Caylee. It was not unusual to hear him sing to himself underneath the noise of an engine. He was deeply loved by his parents, Omar S. Lapp and Linda (King) Lapp, his siblings; Mariana Lapp, Starr Lapp, Josh Lapp and Carson Lapp. Maternal grandparents are Benuel and Sylvia King of Lancaster Pa. Paternal grandparents Sadie Lapp of Gordonville Pa and the late Moses Lapp. Zachariah left behind many friends, neighbors, cousins, uncles and aunts and he will be tremendously missed. The Lapp family wishes to give profound thanks to so many who brought him happiness, no matter how small a deed done, or time spent, it did not go unnoticed. Funeral services Monday, December 1, at Bethel Mennonite Church, 2985 Bethel Lane, Sarasota Florida 34240. Public viewing at 10:00 and service at 12 Noon. In honor of Zack, a celebration of Life is planned at the Lapp residence afterward, Dinner, rides and memories. All are welcome.
