Carol Joy Chaplin, 60, passed away January 31, 2022. She was born October 7, 1961 in Camden, New Jersey to the late Charles and Leah Jane (Spencer) Wagner. Carol came to Sarasota in 2000 from Oaklyn, New Jersey. She served in various administrative roles for Sarasota Baptist Church for 18 years. She loved gardening, crafts, walking with friends and spending time with her grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 35 1/2 years, David; children, Christopher Chaplin and his wife Danielle; Megan Chaplin; and Thomas Chaplin; grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Matthew; brothers, George Wagner and his wife Sherri; and Charles “Chuck” Wagner. There will be a Celebration of Carol’s Life to be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Sarasota Baptist Church, 7091 Proctor Road, Sarasota, Florida 34241.
