Donald Robert Hall

February 6, 1936 - May 29, 2022

With great sadness we share news that Donald Robert Hall passed before dawn at Manatee Memorial Hospital on May 29, 2022.  At 86 years old, Don lived life with zest until the very end, having enjoyed his normal Saturday routine out about the town with his friends from the River Strand community in Bradenton, Florida, where he lived for the past four years.   Don was preceded in death by his lovely wife of 45 years, Lucille Nesci Hall, whom he lost while living in Syracuse, New York.  He is survived by his daughter Linda Hall Ricceli and her husband Bob, and his namesake son Donald Hall, Jr., all of whom will remember him as a loving, supportive and kind father.     Don was a native of Syracuse and a respected member of the community while having worked as a dump truck driver, bartender at the Jolley Roger, and owner of Reflections night club; all were natural fit for the man who greatly enjoyed good times, good people, and the laughter and joy he found in both.  He was a man built for fun and thrill and found both as an avid expert skier, speed skater, and boater on Lake Placid and the Saranac.  He traveled the world with his daughter Linda and creating cherished memories while exploring historic places and leaving his own special charm behind with the locals.  He was so proud of his son Donny and would tell everyone he met how incredibly intelligent and amazing he is as he successfully navigates his career in a challenging industry, and the strength he has in finding his way through life.    He was a great friend and relative, and only contributed in a positive way to the lives of people around him.  He was quick to forgive and even quicker to apologize when both were deserved, and he was a bright spot in the days and lives of all who were fortunate enough to know him.  There is no better model of friendship and human spirit than the memories and lessons that he leaves behind.
