Elizabeth Weaver Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Elizabeth Weaver, 86, passed away July 26, 2022. She was born December 19, 1935 in Hadley, Pennsylvania to the late Henry and Fannie (Yoder) Hostetler. Elizabeth came to Sarasota in 1980 from Sandy Lake, Pennsylvania and was a member of the Sarasota Mennonite Church. She was known as the “Snickerdoodle Lady” at Sunnyside Nursing Home for her famous cookies. She served there as a dietary aide in the kitchen for over 30 years. She loved to bake, play harmonica, collect tea cups and quarters, travel, make craft pieces with sea shells and mirrors, fish, camp and most of all, spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Delores Miller (Lee), Dwayne Weaver (Hannah), Betty Wagler (Larry), Diane Sommers (Jim), JR Weaver (MaryAnn); daughter-in-law, Mary Weaver; sister, Mary Stutzman; grandchildren, Theresa, Terry (Charla), Kyle (Lacey), Scott, Wendy (Phil), James (Holli), Jessie (David), Todd (Ashley), Rodney (Jamie), Matthew (Lauren), Crystal (Ed), Travis (Aurora), Lisa (Mahlon), Janelle, KaShondra (Kelvin), Dustin (Sari), Derek (Rebecca) and Erica (Rolin); and 34 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband Walter W. Weaver, Sr; son David Weaver; granddaughter Wanda Miller; brothers Elmer, John, William, Henry Jr. and Vernon Hostetler; and sister Sarah Bontrager. There will be a viewing on Friday, July 29, 2022 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Sarasota Mennonite Church, 2180 Lakewood Ranch Blvd, Sarasota, Florida 34240 and also Saturday from 9:00 to 10:00 am.
