Glen Ray King, 96, passed away November 12, 2020. He was born November 23, 1923 in Archbold, Ohio to the late Harvey and Carrie (Rupp) King. Glen moved from Stryker, OH, to Sarasota in the spring of 1960 in order to find carpentry work. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his first wife Margaret Christner in 2003; second wife Dorris Stoll in 2009; son David Ray King in 2013; and granddaughter Lisa Kreider in 2007. Glen was an accomplished trim carpenter. He was best known for his deep and abiding love for Jesus. Singing older hymns and playing his harmonica was his passion. He loved to be with people, and he never knew a stranger. Glen almost always had a smile on his face and a joke, a song, or a laugh to share with everyone. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Miriam Ann Kreider and her husband Lyle and Sherill Louise Hostetter and her husband Darrel; daughter-in-law, Rebecca King; grandchildren Jonathan Kreider (Courtney), Obe Hostetter (Jill), Miriam Rene Hostetter (Isaac Witmer), Jodie Hostetter (Andrew Hostetter), Alissa Garth (Steve), Christopher King (Rachel), and 16 great grandchildren. Also left to cherish his memory are step-children, Dean Stoll and his wife Sarah; Gloria Miller and her husband Roland; Rose Wilson and her husband Ken; and Ron Stoll and his wife Joy; step-grandchildren, Adam Stoll (Hadassah), Luke Stoll (Rebekah), Aaron Stoll (Casey), Laura Harris (Dontae), James Miller, Lisa Miller, Andrea Acker (Forest), Mike Miller, Leslie Champion, Paul Gerhard (Stephanie), Rebecca Kriesel (Josh), Maggie Gerhard (Chris Kennedy), Wendie Garden (Derek), Tonya Padget (Nathan) and Mitchel Stoll; numerous great-grandchildren. There will be a graveside service on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 11:00 am. Memories and condolences may be left online at www.MFHcares.com.
