Suzanne “Susie” Gordon 1963 - 2022 The Gordon Family is sad to share the peaceful passing of their beloved sister, Susie Gordon, age 58, who left this part of her life’s journey while at home following an extended stay in the hospital. She was a most- spirited, joyful, fun-loving, athletic, hard working and caring individual who had a hearty laugh, plentiful time for those she knew and loved, those she worked for and employed, and those she newly met. She was born in Canton, Ohio on June 26, 1963, the daughter of William “Bill” and Amelia “Millie” Gordon. Susie grew up in small town America, Waynesburg, Ohio, where she took full advantage of the good fun and antics to be had in the late 1960’s and 1970’s. She nurtured lifelong friendships and was the first girl to play on the Little League Baseball team in town. She was a 1981 graduate of Sandy Valley High School in Magnolia, Ohio. There she made many friends and memories. In addition, she set a number of athletic records in girls basketball for which she earned a collegiate scholarship. Susie was a nationally recognized and highly productive store manager for several Walmart Stores in Maryland, North Carolina and throughout Florida. Her successful career spanned over 30 years. Our sister, Susie loved people! She enjoyed and was a proud, lifelong, Cleveland sports fan. Her many trips to the beach at Siesta Key, fishing in the gulf, or any adventurous jaunt always brought joy to those she accompanied. Susie had great affection and love for her son, Trevor Jessup whose wife, Ashlee Jessup is the devoted mother of Susie’s clever and much adored granddaughters, Liliana “Lilly” and Amelia “Mia”. Known and deeply loved as “Aunt Susie”, a happy, dedicated and dependable aunt who will be sorely missed, yet fondly revered by: Jason, Dylan, Shianne, Caleb, Gabriel, LeAnne, Zachary, Justin, Nicholas, Henry, Ben and Leo, Logan, Paige, Grace and Alex. Their spouses as well as Susie’s great-nieces, great-nephews, many aunts, uncles, and cousins will remember her energy, warmth, and smile when reflecting on Susie’s time with them. Susie’s brothers and sisters will greatly miss her presence in this life. Her sense of humor, boisterous laugh, straight talk, strong hugs, and huge, sensitive, generous heart will remain with Michael Gordon (Kimberly Dodge), Bryan and Kathy Gordon, Justine “Jesse” and Jim Zovath, Jeff and Regina Gordon, and Mark and Jen Pisani. In addition to the loss of her beloved parents, Susie is preceded in death by her wife, Kathy McNerny-Gordon in 2017, and a precious nephew, Adam Carter Gordon in 1994. There will be a Memorial Mass at 9:30 am on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Incarnation Catholic Church in Sarasota, Florida followed by a private burial. As an expression of sympathy in lieu of flowers, the family kindly welcomes donations to the Sandy Valley High School Girls Basketball Program, 5362 Sr 183 NE, Magnolia, OH, 44643.
