Tyler Hugh Callaway, 36, passed away August 12, 2021. He was born February 3, 1985 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He grew up in Lakeland and spent summers in West Palm Beach. As an adult Tyler has lived in both Lakeland and West Palm Beach up until he met his wife Meretta. They briefly lived in Fishhawk, Fl, where they got married, but moved to Sarasota soon after. Tyler spent the rest of his life in the Sarasota area with his wife and children. Tyler attended Abundant Life Church regularly. He loved God and his wife and kids; that was evident to anyone who spent time with him. He especially loved worship time, both at church and at home with his family. He loved going to his kids’ basketball games, and would never miss a game, no matter how far away. He loved playing nearly all sports and was an avid Florida Gators fan. He was very talented in Tennis and played all throughout HS. He later came back to help coach the team after he had graduated. In High School, He was a member of the Key Club for community service. He also did TV production for PTN and won 3rd place in Orlando and 1st place in Lakeland. All his life, Tyler was considered an encyclopedia of all things Marvel Super Heroes. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Meretta; children, Brooke, Skyler, Carson, Riley and Camden; parents, Glennwood Callaway and Ramona Hill Chormann; maternal grandparents, Dr. Raymond and Dorothe Hill; Paternal grandmother, Donzie Elizabeth Callaway; sisters, Nicole Callaway and her husband Jonathon Richardson; and Kylee Chormann; brother, Danny Chormann and his wife Tracy; nephew, Maverick; niece, Lana. Tyler was preceded in death by his granddad, Hugh Virgil Callaway; great granddaddy, Basil Whitman; and uncle Joe Callaway. There will be a visitation on Thursday, August 19, 2021 from 12 to 2 pm at Abundant Life Church, 6461 Proctor Rd, Sarasota, FL 34241. Celebration of Life is open to all and will begin at 2:00pm. He will be buried at Bethel Mennonite Church, in a separate and private ceremony with immediate family only.
