Dolores Ann Van Dyke

Dolores Ann Van Dyke (better known as Lorie), 85, passed away on January 23, 2024. She was born on September 30, 1938 in San Diego, California to the late Armando Bianchetti and Helen Sample. In 2016, Lorie moved from New Mexico to St. Petersburg, Florida and then to Sarasota a year ago. She absolutely loved any and all animals, playing bingo, crocheting, sewing, cooking, spending time in nature, going to the beach, and thrift-store shopping. She also loved to make people laugh, feel loved and to have fun. Lorie appreciated the simple things in life like banana splits and her love for watching football. You could also always find her dancing, enjoying music, giving good hugs, and most importantly loving God. She was so friendly and knew how to make people feel special. Lorie loved love, which included her absolute love for spending time with her family and friends. To know Lorie, is to love her. She was such a kind and generous spirit. Her mantra in life was the attitude of gratitude. As the oldest child in her family, she helped her parents raise all 6 of her brothers and sisters. Then she went on to have 8 beautiful children of her own, 18 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was even given the nickname,”Gigi,” for not only being a wonderful Mom and grandma, but she was a great-grandma. She lived a beautiful life and had an amazing outlook on life as well. She truly believed that love could conquer all and as she use to always say,”love is the name of the game.” She had a magical way of seeing all of the beauty that life has to offer…to love one another and to be kind to one another. This world will truly never be the same since Lorie became an angel in the sky. Left to cherish her memory are her children; Chris, Billy, Anna, Donna, Carla, Sarah and ViVi. Along with her adopted bonus daughter, Jazmine. Her grandchildren; Ryan, Ashley, Amber, Marcie, Jessica, Daniel, Fredy, Steven, Allison, Matthew, Tony, Isabel, Hayley, Cody, Strody, Chelsea, Jake and Cru. Her great grandchildren; Nic, Tanner, Amber, Karma, Frankie, Emma, Daniel, Noah, Liberty, Hudson, Hayden and Madison. We also can’t forget to mention, Lorie’s beloved cat, Aloha. In addition to her parents, Lorie was predeceased by her son, Marty, her brothers, Michael and Steven. Along with her sisters,Roberta and Rebecca.
