FRANCES “Francie” MAUREEN SNYDER, 54 Sarasota, FL. July 13, 1968 — November 26, 2022 Her memory is our keepsake with which we’ll never part, GOD has her in his keeping, we have her in our hearts. It is with immense sadness that the family of Frances Maureen Snyder announces her passing. Francie was an extraordinary soul: courageous, intelligent, compassionate and fun; an incomparable daughter, sister, God-mother, aunt, niece, cousin, educator, colleague, friend and second mother to “Bud” her darling beagle hound. Our precious “Dutchess” was preceded in death by her beloved father, Duke whom she idolized in life. Francie was a teacher of gifted students for the Manatee County School districts; a job she relished. In her role as educator, Francie touched the lives of countless young people during her 30 years of service. She was dedicated and passionate, believing joy in enrichment was paramount to fascination and interest in learning. Francie truly cared about her students and their success: She was a role model and mentor to many, sharing her wisdom and passion for learning. In 2015, Francie was selected as a Discovery Education Program Champion — one of only 14 educators nationwide. In addition to her work in elementary education, Francie was an award-winning photographer. She had a gift for capturing the beauty in nature and people. Francie was an avid sports fan, too. She loved college football — especially her Florida Gators — and professional ice hockey. The Tampa Bay Lightning were her NHL team of choice and she delighted in play-by-play game updates if she couldn’t attend. Francie was a Sarasota native: She graduated from Sarasota High School and USF and was often spotted walking her favorite Lido beach. Francie enjoyed attending musical concerts, cultural events and travel. She was a devout Christian. Francie was a super-star to everyone who knew her: she put others first and could be counted on for anything. She was honest with an unmatched strength to progress. There was no one like Francie. We were fortunate to have her in our lives as she was an absolute gift from God to those who loved her. Missing her beyond’s words is mother, Nancye Lee Snyder, brothers Shannon (Teresa Taft) and Darien Snyder (Pamela Varner) ; sisters Tiffney (Clint) Mosley, Liz Reilly, Jenny Schulz and Kerry Parker (Steve); nephews Hunter, Chase, Bryor, Axel and Max (a God-child) nieces Ashley, Bailey, God-children Emily & Erin, and Emma, Opal, Rosemary, Samantha, Amanda, Sara, Corrie and Sarah. Many called Francie best friend but her favorite friendships were with Carla Thompson ( Frank) and Carla’s sons: Kiersen; Trey; Casen, and Brinton — and Scott Bundy, her companion in almost everything she enjoyed doing most.
