Kenneth Russell Foote

Kenneth (Kenny) Russell Foote (77), beloved Dad, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa and friend, born May 16th, 1946, to the late Russell "Bud" Warren and Betty Jean (Libolt) left this life behind and entered eternity at 11:20 am on July 24th, 2023. After high school, Kenneth served our country in the: US Army from 1966 to 1972 as an US Army Intelligence Analyst in Vietnam at Can Tho Army Airfield, Vietnam from August 1967 to April 1968; US Army National Guard as a Recruiter from 1983 to 1989; US Army Reserves as a Master Sergeant Medic and Orthopedic Specialist from 1989 to 1991; and was a Lifetime Member of the VFW. Kenneth was a gifted carpenter and loved racing dirt tracks at Peoria Speedway in Peoria and was an avid race fan. He competed in several pool and dart leagues in state and national championships. He collected and enjoyed listening to music spanning multiple decades and genres. Most of all, Kenneth loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching them grow and excel in life. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters Carrie Lynn Foote-McClellan and her husband Grant; Robin Leigh Smith and her husband Ken; Erica Joy Peterson-Robinson and her husband Orlandus Robinson; son Derrick Russell Foote and his wife Wendy Lynn (Crook); sister Donna Jean Breymeier and husband Paul; grandchildren Jessica JoLynn Bomhold, Dillon Patrick Ambrose Foote, Emmaleigh Jean Flatau Smith, Trinity Mae Foote, Jacob Warren Flatau Smith, Micaah Paul Flatau Smith, My’Zaiah Lawrence Ortez Peterson-Robinson, Chance Xavier Erych Peterson-Robinson, Jordyn Lynnae Foote and Annabelle Evelyn Flatau Smith; great-granddaughters Echo Aura Weime and Reylee Marie King; and great-grandson Miles Patrick Washington Foote. Kenny was known for helping out others in their time of need, often giving family and friends a place to stay. He instilled in his children the importance of being resourceful and the value of a dollar, teaching them essential life skills such as mechanics and construction. Kenny’s children remember his delicious chili-mac, vegetable soup and other dishes he would make….. sometimes getting in trouble when telling their grandmother his tasted better. There will be a visitation on Saturday, July 29, 2023 from 9:30 to 11:00 am at The Source Church, 3607 US 301, Ellenton, Florida 34222. Funeral with military honors will begin at 11:00 followed by a luncheon at the church. Interment will be in Sarasota National Cemetery on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at 2:00 pm Memorial contributions may made in Kenny’s honor to one of his favorite museums, Sarasota Classic Car Museum, 5500 N Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34243.
