Patricia Newhart Carson

Patricia Newhart Carson, 76, passed away on December 9, 2023. She was born September 2, 1947, in Evanston, Illinois to Walter and Eileen Newhart. She left this world leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories. She was a beloved daughter, mother, sister, Nana, aunt, and friend. Pat was known for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. She touched the lives of many with her infectious laugh, sense of humor and compassionate spirit. She never met a stranger and loved family gatherings. Part of her legacy will be her delicious recipes, from her famous Caesar salad to Easter bunny cake and her wonderful pumpkin roll. She brought enthusiasm and pure kindness to every aspect of her life. Her presence lit up any room, and she had an ability to make those around her feel valued and loved. Patricia Newhart Carson earned her Master’s in Speech Pathology and excelled as a Speech Pathologist, beginning in schools and for the most part of her career, working in Nursing Homes and Assisted Living facilities working with stroke victims and Parkinson’s patients. Pat’s love for her family was immeasurable, and she often found solace and happiness in spending time with her sons and their families and cheering on her grandchildren at their sports. She loved her sisters. They were like one person split into four. The number of hours on the phone and memories from their time together brought her endless joy. Left to cherish her memory are her sons Ryan Carson, his wife Ashley; and David Carson and his wife Laura; grandchildren, Madeline, Piper, and Leyna; her three beautiful sisters, Lynn Newhart; her twin sister Pam Ihle and her husband Lee; and Lee Newhart; and niece Elisabeth and her husband Steve, her nephews Christopher and his wife Seana, Justin and his wife Kari; and Brandon; and former husband Dudley Carson. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Danny Newhart. As we mourn the loss of Patricia Newhart Carson, we will also remember the joy, love, and inspiration she brought into our lives. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her, and the impact she had on all that knew her will be felt for generations to come.
