William Bill Watson Jr.

William Bill Watson Jr., age 68, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, at Harris Methodist Hospital in downtown Fort Worth, surrounded by his loving family. Bill was known by many titles throughout his life: husband, “Daddy,” brother, “PawPaw,” “Uncle Bill,” Pastor, and friend; but above all, he was a man whose love for others was evident in everything he did. His kindness, strength, and generosity will forever be cherished by those who knew him. Bill was born on April 6, 1957, in Dallas, Texas, to Dorrean Taylor and William Bill Watson. He grew up in the DFW metroplex, where he enjoyed spending time with family and friends and building the relationships that would remain important to him throughout his life. In time, he built a family of his own and became a proud father to his hardworking children, and a loving husband to his beautiful wife. Bill worked tirelessly throughout his life to provide for and care for his family. Whether he was pouring concrete, pushing through the pain of past injuries and illnesses, starting his own company, or building race cars, he approached every task with determination and heart. One of Bill’s greatest joys was cooking for the people he loved, whether it was his salmon, smoked chicken, baby back ribs, perfectly seared steaks, or his infamous burgers; he poured his heart and passion into every meal he cooked. Those meals were more than just food, they were moments spent together with the ones he deeply cared for and loved, something Bill treasured more than any diamond on earth. Those who knew Bill will remember his unconditional love, his strength and passion, and the compassion he showed to others, especially the lost and brokenhearted. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and encouragement to many. The impact he made on his family and friends is immeasurable, and his memory will live on in the countless lives he touched. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Watson; his children, Jacob Watson, René Helderman (Nathan Helderman), and Jonathan Watson (Haley Watson); his cherished grandchildren, Caleb Watson, Joshua Watson, and Levi Watson; and his great-grandson, Sonny Ray Watson. He is also survived by his sisters, Dena Bonner and Linda Lindsey, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends. He is also proceeded in death by his mother Dorrean Taylor and his sister Paulette Hershner. Bill will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved him while he rejoices in Heaven with the One Most High. His legacy of love, faith, and dedication to family will continue through the many lives who knew him closely.
